Frequently Asinine Questions

Q. Who is in the band?
A. Mister Hepburn and Mark Zullo are the only two full-time members of the band.
However Waking Born works very closely with other highly talented artists who each
contribute their own unique twists to the project. We brought in a saxaphonist and flautist
for some transition pieces and the track "Terminal Revolution" (Rick Rossi), an actor for "Goin Down" (Mickie Kice), a choral director
(Faith Rivera), choral arranger (David Stern) and several singers for the choir. Randy Hurst
provided acoustic guitar on "Wicked Clown" and co-wrote the lyric for "Home Sweet Home" while Mike Zullo
played electric lead guitar on "Wicked Clown" and "Death Of A Fugitive" and let's not forget the inimitable Bridget O'Rell who
performed all the classical operatic works. The contributions of all of
these musicians are truly significant and help to make the album the incredible psychedelic
audioscape that it is today.
Q. So how did you two meet and where are you living/from?
A. Mister and Mark met through some mutual friends in Venice, California in
1984. Mark is a native Angeleno, and Mister is Scottish, having emigrated to the US in 1984. Both currently live
and work in Los Angeles on various projects.

Q. What is Life Without Breath all about?
A. Our intention is to paint sound, music and words onto the canvas of the
listener's sensorium, reaching directly into where people actually live catalyzing
the creation of whole new universes; engaging the Self in a truly inspiring and powerful
dialog with life.
Life Without Breath is intended to be deep enough for you to listen
to it a hundred times and still find new stuff that you didn't know existed.
There is a
running story through the whole album that can be followed by paying close attention to the
music, lyrics and ambience. We don't want to give the game away by laying it all out here, so
you'll just have to figure it out for yourself. The album contains all the information you
need to understand the story. Top Menu

Q. How did you come up with the ideas?
A. Mark likes to explore all possibilities when it comes to composing and writing
music and Mister is into searching for the boundary conditions of reality. Mister's research into
the antipodes of human thought, together with Mark's extraordinary musical capabilities
allows
Waking Born® to conceive and express myriad, thoughtful and inspiring
musical works. That's the offical answer. However, we also spent some time in research for each part of the project.

Q. Where can we get a copy of the CD?
Q. In which category would your music be placed?

A. We haven't totally figured that out yet, so far, we refer to it as "Art Music", or
a "Psychedelic Rock", intending that people listen to it in the same way one would
listen to serious classical music. People have said that our music
sounds like a film audio track, and there's no denying that it could easily accompany
an art film or full-length video, perhaps, but we prefer that the listener create his or her
own universe to fit, without the distraction of someone else's imagery. The universe created
by
Life Without Breath is is as real as the one that you live in today; you utilize the same
mechanism that you use to determine what's going on in the universe. The worlds inspired
by our audio catalysm are realand they're all yours, with a little help
from
Waking Born®.
